The Brook Theatre, Chatham, Kent

Medway’s Grade II listed Brook Theatre will be undergoing extensive restoration to ensure the historic building can still be used for productions in years to come. The building dating from 1900 is imposing, in English Renaissance style, of Monk's Park ashlar and Portland stone and it will be PIERRA’s responsibility to clean and repair the facades along with carrying out improvements to the windows, roofs and decorative timber and copper cupola’s situated on the ridges of the main roof. Works to the tower will include stone cleaning and repairs along with new asphalt roof coverings to the balconies and lead capping’s to the balcony balustrade’s.

The Chatham theatre, which opened in 1997, was previously Chatham Town Hall and then the Medway Arts Centre. The works are expected to be completed early next year in time for the theatre’s 20th birthday.
